Early results propose proposal to restrict short-term rentals is headed for defeat following $8m campaign by the online letting companySan Francisco voters appeared poised on Tuesday to defeat a controversial ballot measure to curb short-term domestic and apartment rentals,handing a victory to companies such as Airbnb, early results showed. With about 65000 ballots counted, or about 61% of voters had said no to Proposition F,which would sever the number of nights San Francisco homes or bedrooms can be rented to 75 each year, among other limitations.
