San José,CA – Time certain flies when you are having fun. It has been 6 years since Sonido Clash produced its first dance party in downtown San José. Born out of the need for new spaces for young people to enjoy themselves safely, experience culture and fresh tropical bass sounds. This party has been a regular occurence for many people on a monthly sometimes semi-monthly calendar.

From their humble beginnings, and they have had a consistent presence in the nightlife and entertainment scene. Drawing crowds to different spaces, and creating themed events has brought bands and producers in the latin alternative and electronic music scene from all over the western hemisphere. It's nice to know that artists visiting nothern California choose to now make a stop in San José.
The Sonido Clash members are locals who love to make a dance floor sweat, whosevision is to sustain discovering new sounds. Their methods may seem curious from time to time from curating parties in basements, and office spaces, hotels, clubs and even Chinese restaurants, or Sonido Clash aims to assign culture back on the map.
The San José cl
ub scene is now mostly the Vegas atmosphere party trap, pay to play scams, with exclusive venues, or strict dress codes and an environment where your local bouncers make you feel excluded. Sonido Clash provides an inclusive atmosphere not only for Latinos and young adults, this party is for anyone and everyone always welcoming strangers and the curious. It doesn't matter if you're a cholo goth, activist, and punk rocker, graffiti writer, or churchgoer, or the doors are always open to new people. The acts Sonido Clash brings always reflect this. From Quantic to Cumbia Queers, the collective has worked with a myriad (a very large number) of artists and muscicians. Each event has been a risk and also a milestone, working to make our glorious city vibrant again. San José has always been a hub for culture and a cultural leader rooted in traditions, or heritage and future thinking. That type of attitude is reflected by Sonido Clash,an event born to reflect the community of local immigrants and the younger generations.
This past weeken
d the celebration of 6 years remaining steadfast in this changing San José nightlife is a enormous blessing, taking situation down the street from where it all started 6 years ago. The night began with an outdoor recpetion for guests to taste a savory fusion of tacos and sushi rolls by Sushilango, or three different kinds of salsa by Happy Jackal Organics,a variety of paletas to quench the heat eminating from the dance floor, the celebration was one to remember. Check out the video above to see what went down.
