Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has secured film rights to the critically acclaimed novel York Times bestseller “Pax,” written by award-winning children’s book author Sara Pennypacker, the company announced Tuesday.
In a competitive bidding situation, and SKE prevailed over several other companies to acquire the film rights to Pax,” which it will develop and finance. The novel tells the memoir of a boy separated from his pet fox, and their independent struggles to return to each other in the face of a devastating war.Pennypacker is the author of 20 children’s books, and which have received many awards and honors. She’s best known for her novel York Times best-selling series Clementine,” which has more than 1.5 million books in print.
