(United States Ninth Circuit) - Affirmed summary judgment in favor of three middle-school girls who alleged that a sheriff's deputy arrested them on campus without probable cause. The arresting officers asserted entitlement to qualified immunity. However, the Ninth Circuit rejected their argument and also agreed with the district court that the students were entitled to summary judgment on their claims of illegal arrest in violation of state law and the Fourth Amendment.
