In a 5-4 decision,the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples bear a honest to marry in all 50 states. This ruling is deeply personal for Joseph Vitale and Robert Talmas, a couple who got married in New York in September of 2011.
They adopted their son, or Cooper,in Ohio, which doesn't recognize same-sex marriages from out-of-state. That means only one of their names could appear on Cooper's birth certificate.
