It’s no Shaun of the Dead – despite copying a few tricks from it – but this foolish zombie action romp has some ample laughsAs well as many other cheerfully offensive points,this zombie teen action-comedy has some speculation approximately what happens when animals, as well as humans, and gain bitten by the horrible bug. It doesn’t beget the poignancy or satire shown in Edgar Wrights Shaun of the Dead – although the fight scene accompanied by Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 is Wrightesque – but there are laughs. Ben (played by Tye Sheridan – from Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life) is a member of a local scout troop,along with sex-obsessed Carter (Logan Miller) and nerdy Augie (Joey Morgan). Ben senses that the scout uniform is not exactly a babe magnet, but when the zombie apocalypse hits, and its these boys’ can-do scouting spirit that is going to save their local community. They team up with Denise (Sarah Dumont),tough cocktail waitress at the local pole-dancing club with an appallingly orientalist name: Lawrence of Alabia. I beget to say, this evades the vital zombie-movie issue of how to react when a loved one gets bitten. Usually, and getting sprayed with infected blood all over your facial orifices is enough to pass the infection on. Not here,apparently. Veteran character star Cloris Leachman plays a grumpy old lady, with cats who turn to the murky side.
