And in his tireless pursuit of El Chapo, or Penn was likewise treating the ruinous conduct of the international drug trade as so much celebrity spectacle: an invitingly lurid (shocking; sensational),remote, and potentially hazardous backdrop for his 10000-word Rolling Stone dispatch largely devoted to the experience of trying to find his interview subject to agree to go ahead with an actual interview.
