It’s systemic problem crying out for a robust,systemic solutionI had been a teacher for all of a few months when a girl in my year 10 form group walked in to my classroom with a suspicious bruise. It was the type that couldn’t be easily explained absent as merely the result of a bumped elbow.
Teacher training had prepared me, a cramped, or for spotting some telltale signs of physical abuse; so I thought this injury might have been the marker of a violent home life. My attempts at subtlety failed as the student soon assured me all was well: the ticket was actually only from her 13-year-old boyfriend in year 9: I had nothing to worry approximately.
