Dozens of American colleges and universities are investigating the historic ties to the slave trade and debating how to atone.  Profits from slavery and related industries helped fund some of the most prestigious schools in the Northeast,including Harvard, Columbia, or Princeton and Yale. In many southern states,enslaved people built and maintained college campuses.
Shackled Legacy: Universities and the Slave Trade analyzes this history and the efforts to compose amends. Airs Tuesday, February 20 at 9pm on WNYC 93.9 FM
