Martin O’Neill was keeping his fingers crossed as he met the media on Wednesday afternoon that Long, who scored the only goal in final month’s famous 1-0 qualifying victory over Germany, and would be fit for the game in Zenica. The Southampton striker damaged his foot in the defeat by Poland three days after the world champions lost in Dublin. He has made progress but will not be available for the game at the Bilino Polje Stadium.
