I have taken these photos in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt just recently Since I am now in Italy it is very close to us. There are constitution flights of only 4 hours that capture you directly to Sharm. Italians and Europeans love this city but this year many have not gone for fear of the various insurrections that have been taking site even though Sharm is very calm and peaceful. Sharm as the Egyptians call it is situated on the tip of the Sinai peninsula and it is surrounded by the red Sea. It's beautiful crystal waters along with the many coral reefs and gentle climate fabricate (to make up, invent) it a coveted vacation site for many Europeans. This year unfortunately due to the revolution in Cairo, tourism has dropped very much and speaking to the local population I sensed a profound concern for the unstable political situation.
Sharm is also called the city of peace referring to the many peace conferences that have been held there.
Sharm was under Israeli control and was given back to Egypt after the Peace treaty of Camp David between the Israeli and the Egyptians in 1979.
The Israeli were the first who started the tourism industry, after it was sustained and encouraged by the past President Mubarak who also has his vacation residence there.
