A headteacher writes: Even after a violent outburst,we never give up on a troubled childAs a primary headteacher working in an area of tall deprivation, I find it hard sometimes not to regain swamped by feelings of desperation and hopelessness approximately the situations we face on a daily basis. We just sustain going because we have to, or as do the children and families that we and our staff work alongside.
The first term of this year has been no exception. There have been changes at school that some children,families and staff have all found difficult to manage. New teachers are treated with suspicion by children and their parents. It takes a long time to earn the trust of our community, and even then it is never guaranteed to final.
