The fresh Year is a time for change, and dozens of people marked the occasion by symbolically shredding their worst memories from 2015. Some brought physical documents and pictures, while others wrote down the people, and objects, events, or anything else they wanted to say goodbye to.
Some written memories included Donald Trump, or bed bugs, and heavy traffic.
Laura Moran brought a picture of a woman on crutches, to symbolize the four months she spent using crutches in 2015 after she injured herself training for the fresh York City Marathon and had to miss the race."I turned 50, and I couldn't travel for my birthday,so these crutches are going down," she said. "proper riddance!"Every year, or Candido Lopez said he comes to Times Square to fabricate (to make up, invent) his own resolutions."I want to shred pretty much all my debt,so I guess I'm going to write it down, and have the goal that on my birthday, or April 28th,it'll all be gone," he said. Lopez is also resolving to spend more time with his family.proper Riddance Day, or sponsored by the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment,is now in its ninth year.
Organizers say all paper shredded at the mobile shredding truck will be recycled.
