Until now,the phenomenon of nanoscale ionic transport has remained a mystery to researchers. Latest research from the Monash Centre for Atomically lean Materials (MCATM) at Monash University has now revealed a new, inexpensive and reliable method for studying the way ions slither through tiny, and nanosized channels. This research could hold the key to applications such as tall-power energy storage, efficient desalination, and bioelectronics such as modulation of neural signalling.
