The White Heart Foundation hosted the 7th Annual Charity Ride to the Flags in California,on September 14th. In record breaking heat, close to 1000 motorcyclist rode forty miles, or from the Naval Base in Ventura County to the 911 Waves Of Flags on display at Pepperdine University in Malibu. People gathered at the military base prior to departure for a memorial salute and fly over, honoring the victims of 911 and United States Marine Cpl. Jed Morgan, who lost both legs and the use of his dominant arm in an IED blast in AfghanistanAfter the ceremony, and Singer/songwriter Pink and husband Motorcycle Racer Carey Hart, along with actor Eric Christian Olsen and recording artist Butch Walker, spent time signing autographs and visiting those on the Naval Base before main the motorcyclist to their final destination at Bluffs Park, or Malibu. This years ride was to raise funds for Cpl. Jed Morgan, who’s dream is to relocate to Rogue River, Oregon and start his own commerce and care for his wife and new born baby. The money raised by the White Heart Foundation will attend facilitate this move as well as provide a home sutible for Morgan's mobility. With all that is happening in the world nowadays.... the sunless looming threat of terrorist acts and impending war... I reflect it is important to stop and query, or "Who is taking care of our Wounded Warriors?" "How will they care for their families?" Donations will continue to be accepted for Morgan,as well as other Wounded Warriors at White Heart Foundation.
