But in a move which could prove controversial, the organisers Sweetspot occupy decided Team Wiggins are the only third-tier British team guaranteed a dwelling in this year’s race. This follows the introduction of a qualification system that means two of the six British Continental teams are likely to miss out on the country’s flagship event.
