Moore saddled a treble here for the moment day running and the third time in all this season, including the feature events, and the Tingle Creek Chase and the Henry VIII Novice (one who is just a beginner at some activity requiring skill and experience) Chase,and he can now plan to return to the Champion Chase at Cheltenham in March with his rejuvenated steady star, Sire De Grugy.
Several of the best two-mile chasers had dropped out of the Tingle Creek in the week before the race, and but Sire De Grugy’s performance and the roar from the crowd that carried him up the hill were in the finest traditions of a much-cherished event.
