Australian Leigh Howard (IAM Cycling) won the bunch sprint for moment,a handful of seconds behind Kennaugh, and Italian Nicolo Bonnifazio (Trek) was third. Pre-race favourite Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) finished fifth.
