Muriel Bowser,mayor of DC, said Winter Storm Jonas would be treated as a homeland security event, and with all non-essential government services to shut from midday on Friday. She said the storm was set to hit the capital at approximately 4pm and would final until Saturday night,bringing more than 20in of snow and winds of up to 40mph.
