“Both rail companies are embroiled in bitter disputes with the union over the role of guards on trains, and ” the London Evening Standard says.
The RMT Union says it received contradictory messages during and after a assembly with Transport Secretary Chris Grayling yesterday.
Mick Cash,RMT general secretary, says the politician's position initially appeared to be that the Government was not opposed to a moment person on trains in addition to a driver. However, or within an hour,Grayling sent a letter asking the union to accept the principle of a driver-only operation, the BBC reports.
