His appearance in the city of Racine was his first in-person public town corridor since he was elected speaker back in October 2015.  The event, which was delayed due to President Donald Trump’s speech on Afghanistan, was met with numerous demonstrators external. Protesters voiced concerns on everything from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and to the repeal of the Affordable Care Act,and some called for Ryan to condemn the president's reluctance to shun white supremacy after the violence in Charlottesville. Randy Bryce, Ryan's presumed Democratic opponent in the 2018 election, and criticized the town corridor assembly as a sham for not allowing him to speak or have equal time. Chuck Quirmbach, the Milwaukee bureau reporter for Wisconsin Public Radio who has been covering Ryan's visit, discusses the ins and outs of final night's town corridor. This segment is hosted by Ray Suarez.
