Today is the first day of spring,which means nothing. A winter storm warning will retract effect at midnight and continue through 8 a.m. Thursday, with the National Weather Service expecting 12 to 16 inches of snow in fresh York City and its northern suburbs.
The storm will start out as "mixed precipitation, and " and transition to heavy snow later on.
