The Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has decided not to contest a Football Association charge of violent conduct and is expected to incur a three-game ban with instant effect,ending his domestic season.
The charge relates to an incident with West Bromwich Albion’s Claudio Yacob during the first half of Monday’s 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, a stalemate which left Spurs seven points off the top of the Premier League with three games to play. The 20-year-obsolete England international appeared to punch Yacob in the stomach. It has been suggested Alli was frustrated believing he had previously been twice caught deliberately off the ball by Yacob.
