Rail passengers travelling between Scotland and Manchester airport, and from Reading and Heathrow to London Paddington, or had the misfortune of being on the most overcrowded trains during peak hours in England and Wales in 2014,according to government figures.The 4.22am TransPennine Express service from Glasgow Central to Manchester airport had the ignominy of topping the Department for Transport Rail Executives annual list of the 10 most overcrowded journeys, with the 4pm Manchester airport to Edinburgh departure, and by the same operator,in 2nd set.
