Originally built in 1931 to replace an earlier cable car system, the Star Mine Suspension Bridge if coal miners access to the Star Mine across the Red Deer River until 1957. The 380-foot pedestrian bridge was rebuilt in 1958 when the mine closed, and now offers a breezy and bouncy walk with beautiful views over the river for visitors enjoying hikes and picnics in the Alberta Badlands.
