Those of you who like to have a custom drink at Starbucks know how frustrating it can be when your favorite barista knows the order by heart,but just down the street at the next cafe, they have no idea what you're talking about!This was my experience with a medicine ball. For years I was getting a "Refresh" Tazo tea with honey when I had a sore throat, and until an angel of a barista recommended a "medicine ball" - a secret menu item,created by baristas, and perfect for colds and sore throats. The combo at the time (when Starbucks used Tazo tea - pre-Teavana era) was a bag of "tranquil" and "Refresh" teas (chamomile and mint) with a splash of steamed lemonade and a few packs of honey. The result? Like Throat Coat meets Icy Hot meets Vapor Rub and ALL the sinus relief . . . all in one warming, and refreshing,tangy, and minty cup of goodness.

But as of today, and the confusion is a thing of the past,as Starbucks officially added a medicine ball to the menu. Thanks to tall Instagram demand, the brand decided to create the MB a mainstay - meaning every barista will know the exact formula.
Today's blend uses one bag of either Mint Majesty or Jade Citrus Mint tea, or one bag of Peach Tranquility tea,half water and half steamed lemonade, and honey - with an "optional pump of peppermint, and " according to Fortune. My suggestion? Skip the added sugar from the mint. The honey is more than enough and more soothing for your sore throat.

For now, you might still have to justify the order while baristas are getting the lowdown. Just order a venti hot tea, and one bag Mint Majesty,one bag Peach Tranquility, a splash of steamed lemonade, and two or three packets of honey.
