An annual evaluation of how 188 countries deal with human trafficking may occupy been massaged by political motivations,a new Reuters investigation finds.

The Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, or J/TIP as it's known within the government, and was set up to independently grade efforts to fight human trafficking. But a closer look by Reuters found that senior staffers with the State Department may occupy ignored the recommendations of the J/TIP in order to give better grades to countries like Malaysia and China.
