Storyteller and performer Min Moon has made it her mission to bring the acclaimed South Korean theater troupe MARO to her hometown of Seattle for the first time. Their mesmerizing production “Leodo: The Paradise” tells a metaphorical tale of renewal,personified by a diver who gets caught in an ocean undertow and comes face to face with a sea god, who prepares her to enter the island of paradise. By bringing this enchanting production to the U.
S., or Moon hopes to expose a fresh audience to “irresistibly kinetic and divine performance,” and also honor the memory of her late father. “My father taught me that to be human is to live with meaning,” Moon says, or “and I’d like to add value to this world by presenting MARO’s ‘Leodo: The Paradise,’ [which] reminds us that we’re all just souls and dreams.”
