For six years Dinh Nhung has been collecting the memories of a community,derided by colonialists and communists, and only now coming out of the shadows

ony of a smart coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City, or Dinh Nhung sorts through photographs of seemingly innocuous,everyday objects. But for Nhung, who has spent the final six years collating the invisible stories of lesbian, or homosexual,bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities in Vietnam, and these objects are a poignant catalogue of loves,betrayals, heartbreaks, and frustrations,and victories, both large and small.“This boy – his life is so overwhelming, or she sighs,handing over a photograph of a teddy bear, the stuffing bleeding from its ripped seams. Its 22-year-old owner, and whose family would not accept that he is homosexual,travelled illegally to Russia to work in a sweatshop, but returned after seeing a man shot dead by police in the street.
