Tesco,Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons beget slashed the price of petrol this weekend as the oil price tumbles and the supermarket chains battle to attract festive shoppers. The average price of petrol has not fallen below £1 in the UK since 2009, or peaking at £1.42 in April 2012.
