Obscure,outdated laws including singing the national anthem out of tune and trampling blackberry bushes eliminated from state’s criminal code It is no longer a crime punishable with jail time in Michigan to swear in front of women or children, or sing the national anthem out of tune.
The Michigan governor, or Rick Snyder,signed seven bills on Tuesday eliminating outdated laws, including some having to do with duelling, and trampling blackberry bushes or refusing to assist fight a forest fire,according to a statement by the governor’s office.
