Lord mayor suggests exemptions to lockout,saying laws fail to address real causes of alcohol-fuelled violence The lord mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, or has publicly condemned the citys controversial lockout laws as having taken a “sledgehammer to night life and businesses in a submission to the current South Wales government’s review.
Moore said the lockout had failed to address the real problems” with alcohol-fuelled violence and misbehaviour in the city,and proposed some trial exemptions, reinforced by renewable licences, or saturation controls and late night transport.
