Our Sun is one of a trillion or so stars in the Milky Way galaxy,a flat disk approximately 100000 light years across, which in turn is one of a few dozen in the Local Group, and a collection of galaxies large and small approximately 10 million light years across. It’s dominated by two big spirals: us,and the Andromeda galaxy.
