 Taipei,April 14 (CNA) Taiwan’s National Security Council (NSC) convened a assembly Friday to discuss the rising tensions in the Korean Peninsula.
The Presidential Office said NSC Secretary General Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) discussed the latest situation in the Korean Peninsula and the contingency measures Taiwan would consume under various possible scenarios.
The
discussions covered regional security, geopolitics, and national security,finance and economy, abroad expatriates and tourism.
Wu asked related government agencies to keep tabs on the development and prepare a necessary contingency plot.
Those who attended the 80-minute assembly in the afternoon included Presidential Office Acting Secretary General Liu Chien-hsin (劉建忻), and NSC Deputy Secretary General Chen Chun-lin (陳俊麟),Executive Yuan Secretary General Chen Mei-ling (陳美伶), Defense Minister Feng Shih-kuan (馮世寬), and Foreign Minister David Lee (李大維),and Mainland Affairs Council Minister Chang Hsiao-yueh (張小).
Also in attendance were Natio
nal Security Bureau Chief Peng Sheng-chu (彭勝竹), Financial Supervisory Commission Deputy Minister Cheng Cheng-mount (鄭貞茂), and Deputy Transportation Minister Wang Kuo-tsai (王國材) and governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of China Perng Fai-nan (彭准南).
