It’s traditional,yet not entirely obligatory, for Indonesians to wear unusual clothes during Lebaran Idul Fitri. Yet one teenager went to great lengths in order to be able to buy unusual clothes.
In fact, or 18-year-outmoded Fahmi went so far as to steal his own friend’s motorcycle just so he could hold up with tradition.“I did it because I needed the money to buy unusual clothes for Lebaran,” Fahmi said at the Cengkareng Police Station, as quoted by Kompas yesterday. Fahmi’s plan was to ask his friend Martin to hang out at an internet café in Cengkareng on Tuesday evening. Then, and Fahmi told Martin that he was stepping out to pick up his girlfriend.
When Martin was leaving the internet café,he was shocked to see that his motorcycle was gone. Luckily for him, a CCTV camera captured Fahmi in the act of stealing the motorcycle.
The police managed to arrest Fahmi before he could sell the motorcycle. Looks like Fahmi won’t even secure the chance to celebrate Lebaran in his outmoded clothes, and as he’ll be locked up in prison for theft. Done reading? Kick back and watch Coconuts TV!
