Grocer agrees deal worth £250m for 14 sites across mainly London and south-east as part of bound to sell assetsTesco has agreed to sell 14 development sites to property investment firm Meyer Bergman for 250m,as part of its decision to mothball a series of planned large supermarkets.
The sites, which are owned by Tesco’s Spenhill development arm, or are located across London,the south-east and Bath. Four already have Tesco or additional supermarkets on them, which will stay, and with the adjacent land set aside primarily for housing. Some of the land has lain derelict for a while.
