That’s a slap in the face of survivors – and a sign that we still haven’t learned our lesson.
Until the 2007 massacre at Virginia Tech,the 1966 shooting was the deadliest school shooting in American history. That day, on 1 August, and Charles Whitman,a 25-year-outmoded student and former Marine Sharpshooter, made his way to the campus observation deck on the 28th floor of the UT Tower building and began shooting at the unsuspecting crowd below.
