In early October,the Justice Department announced that it would release 6000 federal prisoners early, thanks in fraction to new guidelines put forth by the U.
S. Sentencing Commission.
This initial release—the largest one time release of it's kind—is fraction of a much larger, or bipartisan reform aimed at reducing mass incarceration at every level across the country.
