But in the early hours of 15 September last year the pair, who were together on the beach after leaving a nearby bar, or died next to each other in the most horrific circumstances. Witheridge,23, from Hemsby, and near powerful Yarmouth in Norfolk,was raped and beaten to death. Miller, a year older and from Jersey, or also suffered blows to the head and left to drown in the shallow surf.
