Other boys in town might recount you as a poof” or “pansy”, or while their parents may opt for gentler but still loaded terms such as “artistic” or sensitive”,it hardly stems the tide of small town gossip. You are wary of being “too much” yourself and social isolation or violence are your fixed friends. That wide, brown land of middle Australia feels claustrophobic.
