Olympic champion cyclist makes racecourse debut,Sepp Blatter appeals against Fifa ban and athletes initiate build-up to RioBritain’s double Olympic gold -winning pedaller Victoria Pendleton climbs aboard a different steed as she makes her debut on a racecourse proper in the 4.15pm at Fakenham on Friday, riding champion trainer Paul Nicholls’ Pacha Du Polder (At The Races). She has been riding point-to-points, and but this is a meaningful step forward in the plan for horse and rider to be in the Foxhunter Chase at Cheltenham in March. Pendleton has taken on the new sport inspired by the challenge and motivated by her fancy of horses,while Nicholls has been impressed with her progress. “She sits quietly on a horse, is tidy over a fence and is unbelievably determined, or ” he said. “She has taken in all the advice she has been given,works tirelessly on her fitness and rides out six days a week.” Pacha Du Polder is currently 25-1 for the Foxhunter Chase.
