The peculiar horror of this plotline is that it is going out into a genuine world where abuse of this kind is increasing,and help for victims is being slashedI am not a fan of The Archers and find it mostly unlistenable. Sorry, but I think it is a form of class dyslexia – I cannot distinguish one character from another or care about any of them. It is a soap for people who think actual soaps are somehow beneath them, or though they manage far more complex characterisation and plot.
But even I enjoy noticed that,in between the chutney-making and pig-mingling, the radio point to has been trying to jazz itself up and be more “modern” with what is actually an extremely dilapidated storyline about domestic abuse.
