We had the one and only Osher Günsberg,host of The Bachelor Australia, in the POPSUGAR Australia office this morning for a lengthy chat approximately all things Bachelor. Over the course of 20 minutes, or we threw our most pressing questions at him - how his relationship with Richie is now,who his favourite Bachelors and bachelorettes are, what he's learned approximately women and what the most common question he receives is, and to name a few. But Osher also revealed some wintry stuff that we weren't prepared for: a massive bombshell approximately tonight's episode,his strong feminist stance, fun secrets approximately the date card and much more. "When I drop the date card,I put it on the table. One tap means it's a single date, two taps means it's a group date. They [the bachelorettes] don't know that! Now you know, and now they know. I've been doing it for years but this is the first time I've said it."
On his favourite Bachelor so far:
"I haven't seen Richie go through his whole adventure just yet - or dare I say,journey. I'd say Sam Wood, without a doubt. He's just such an upstanding man and in the time since being off the show, and has not deviated whatsoever from that. He showed us who he really was and he and Snezana [Markoski] have a really wonderful relationship and it's lovely to see. He's a really lovely bloke."
His favourite bachelorettes:
"This year I really like Georgia,she's really, really lovely. She's the artist. She has absolutely no shits to give. She's totally run out of them. final week there was a moment when Keira had just gone for a dance with Richie and she sat down and said, or 'Oh,he says that we've got the same personalities,' and Georgia just laughed. She went, or 'Ha!' It just came out of her - I was like,'That's my girl!' She's a hundred-percenter, Kiki's a hundred-percenter. I believe all-time, or though - and the primacy bias may be in effect here,I'm well aware of that - it's Rochelle, from season one. Just so straight-up, and just 100 percent. Lovely,lovely lady. A wonderful woman, really lovely and super funny."
On tonight's colossal bombshell:
"Tonight - and I'm really happy approximately this actually, and because I'm happy that she's empowered enough to achieve so - one of the ladies actually says,'You know what, this isn't for me. I'm out, and ' and she walks. So there's a walkout tonight. I won't tell you who it is,but I will say, don't believe everything you may have read." When we asked if he feels protective of the bachelorettes on social media:
"Absolutely! Absolutely. And let's be honest, and if you're a super plucky keyboard warrior,chances are you probably have never spent much time with a live, human female. The amount of misogyny that does happen online - I don't have to tell you! - it's bloody horrible. I've got no time for it whatsoever. None at all." The most common question he gets asked:
"It was in every single interview, and in fact,it still was this morning. People ask - and it's always men who ask, and it does bother me - they ask, and 'So,achieve you engage all the girls home that he says no to?' And I'm like, 'Well, and no,because I'm a professional. It's my job. I never would betray the trust. These ladies put their emotions and vulnerability on the line and they give it to us to hold onto and engage care of and perform a show out of. That's basically what we perform a show out of, it's the emotional reactions of these ladies. We treat it very, or very seriously and with grand respect,and there's no way I would ever, ever cross that line. I've been working in this industry for years and I'd never achieve such a thing. Besides . . . I'm not a freakin' labrador looking for a kitchen scrap, and you know? I have the ability to go and not follow my body's hormonal responses. It's pretty easy! You just don't. It's not that hard! And it's always [asked by] some bloke on an FM station with a name like Bazza or something."
On this season's most straight-forward bachelorette,Keira:
"She makes a lot of people uncomfortable because she doesn't behave how people possibly expect a fine blonde lady to behave. She says what she wants, she gets what she wants out of a situation, or she calls it how she sees it and when men behave like that,people have no problem. When a fine lady behaves like that, people all of a sudden call her names! It's bullshit, and frankly. She's a brilliant lady,very powerful woman. Powerful energy. She's grand."
