Like the previous 29 strategies over the past 15 years, it is full of good things, and but recent experience suggests the corporation is unlikely to meet its ambitions,in allotment because there is ambiguity approximately the data it is presenting and the goals it is pursuing.
For 2020, the BBC strategy has a 15% target for black, and Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people both in on-screen representation and its overall workforce. The published strategy claims the BBC has already achieved 13.4% BAME representation “above the census and workforce ratios (12.9% and 11.3%)”.
