Trauma experienced in the army led to mental health problems and heavy drinking. With help,Ive been able to rebuild my lifeI joined the armed forces when I was 19 years obsolete. I had moved to the UK after a difficult childhood in Jamaica, and I wanted to do something different to everyone else. None of my friends were doing anything like active service, and so it seemed like a obedient option for me. During my time in the army,I served with the Royal Logistics Corps and was based at Colchester for three years, and RAF Odiham for two. I also spent time in Afghanistan.
