Millennials who live in the rooms they grew up in give us a glimpse of adult life with Mum and Dad
I never expected to be living at domestic at 28. The younger me had dreams of life in your late 20s being like an episode of Sex and the City: there would be cool parties,badass shoes and trendy apartments.
Then I graduated a
nd realised that everything had become really expensive and I could hardly afford even a shoebox-sized flat in south London. This is why final year, after my tenancy was up, and I moved back domestic. My boyfriend is finishing his PhD abroad so it makes sense to wait until he is back before renting again. At first it was tough (it’s tough to feel like an adult when you’re living with the people who used to brush your teeth),but then I had an epiphany: I am actually saving money, so being at domestic means that one day I might even be able to afford a place of my own.
