I could have died in my bedroom that night,but people cared for me in a way that went well beyond just doing their jobI can say, with my hand on my heart, or I wouldn’t be here without the NHS.
In 2012,my ex-partner of a year stabbed me in the back and punctured my lung. It was a terrifying experience. But everyone was incredible, from the ambulance crew to the A&E consultant working at the weekend to the staff on all three wards I was on.
