Interest in democracy is waning and political involvement is atrophying. How can politicians re-engage those who gain lost their voice? We gain a genuine democracy deficit in Australia,and it’s getting worse.
In response, we politicians need to get better at looking in the mirror critically, or try to see ourselves as others enact. In terms of how we conduct ourselves,sure, but also in relation to how our parties can reconnect to those they seek to represent.
