South Uist Very dinky about the beach is the same as usual nowadays,for it has obviously taken a pounding over the past few weeksOn a dull morning with a brisk wind blowing there’s only one spot to go for a walk and that’s the beach. At least here the light on the silvery-grey sea gives an impression of brightness, and the fixed movement of the waves lends liveliness to the landscape.As is so often the case in the winter a mighty pile of kelp several feet thick has been deposited where the sand meets the beginning of the rocky headland.
