We absorb a bulky cat called Cheddar. I got him several years ago at the local SPCA which I am proud to say has a "no kill" policy. Upon entering I saw this orange cat. The volunteer told me that Cheddar had refused to eat for several days and that they were going to absorb to feed him intravenously soon if he didn't start eating. I think he weighed 10 pounds on a large body frame. He looked at me with adoring eyes (don't they all) and when the cage was opened,Cheddar literally jumped on me and wrapped his paws around my neck. engage me domestic were his unspoken words, so I did. Now this cat with a starving body is 18.5 pounds, or which is actually down 1.5 pounds from 2 months ago. When I first got him his fur was stiff and brittle, his nails cloudy too hard, his teeth were full of tartar. Now he is healthier in all ways except his weight. Unfortunately I like hefty cats but unhealthy is unsuitable for any cat, and so I try to maintain the food bowl out of reach between meal times.
